OIAMR's Trade Scanners are designed as a one-stop shop for finding and then backtesting trade ideas all on the same page. The 7 different scanner themes currently available are explained in detail on the corresponding tabs: Seasonality, Earnings, Candlesticks, State Transitions, State Targets, Proprietary Trades and Unusual Option Activity. Each page has customizable search parameters, symbol search lists and trading strategies to execute backtests with.
How The Trade Scanners Work
After screening for qualifying candidates (each scanner provides unique search parameters), each symbol or group of symbols can be quickly backtested using 1 of 20 different stock or option strategies.
The 5-Step Process
- Select symbol search list: Choose either a pre-defined index list or upload custom symbols.
- Select criteria: Choose standard filters, triggers, or thresholds for the active scanner.
- Review candidates: Examine table scores and signal metrics for active setups.
- Configure backtest: Select from 20 option/stock strategies, customize strike parameters, and set goals.
- Analyze performance: Review equity charts, total profit, win rate, and log parameters immediately.
